1198S

A true stunner of a machine, our showbike; designed and built at Hertfordshire Superbike Centre.
The Ducati 1198 is the successor to the 1098, and the S model has been proven to be one of the most formiddable track/street bikes produced.
At Hertforshire Superbike Centre, that wasn't enough. We decided to improve on the original and produced an upgraded version. With even better looks, and a unique one-off custom paint job, but with the power to match, Engine output was measured at 164BHP, with the dyno graph to confirm.

Work done

  • Body and Frame

The machine was disassembled, down to the frame; was repainted in white, with gold green and red pinstripes along the frame.
  • All the body panels and fairings were stripped and painted with a unique hand airbrushed design, subtly embedding the Italian flag, using the white background of the paintwork, and the addition of red and green stripes. The paintwork is dominated by the Ducati Corse logo, with a red chequered design, and the Italian colour. The Hertfordshire Superbike Centre, Ducati Corse logo, and a "custom built" label finish off the elegant looks.
  • Bodywork and Accessories

The bike has had every single aftermarket part available, put on! Each nut, bolt and fastener has been replaced with a ProBolt alternative, or professionally replated. Most of the aftermarket parts are made by the prestigious Rizoma. Various parts were replaced by real carbon fibre alternatives. Rizoma parts include, but are not limited to, lever guards, levers, fluid reserviors, fuel cap, rearsets, tail tidy, see-through clutch cover, see-through cam belt covers, spindle sliders and the front sprocket cover.
  • Wheels, tyres, brakes and suspension

The 17" Marchesini rims, have poliseh edges, and the same quality paintowkr as the rest of the bike! With the incredible Michelin Pilot Road III tyres, that preform as as good as they look, coupled up with the EBC pads on the freshly rebuilt Brembo calipers (complete with the HEL SS braided hoses), controlling the machine is a breeze; it goes where you want it to, and stops when you want it to! Rebuilt Öhlins front forks, and rear shock absorber allows the bike to stay planted to the ground, whether you are tackling the twisties, tearing the track or hammering the highway!
  • Performance and Engine

The Power Commander 5, with the Auto-tune module, and the touch-screen control unit have been installed. The bike benfits from a Ducati performance slipper clutch, with a renthal sprocket kit, coupled up by the D.I.D gold chain. The crank was rebuilt, with gas-ported/gas-flowed heads, as well as the head being skimmed, to give more compression. The machine sounds phenominal, by means of the full bore Akrapovic race exhaust system, which is also linked to the Power Commander and Auto Tune module, ensuring pin-point accuracy, as the unit remaps the air and fuel mixture throughout the entire rev range.
